GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Stickfast 301 is a medium viscosity general purpose resin of good colour and clarity, Stickfast 301 is based on Phthalic anhydride and has overall balanced properties. The resin exhibits good moisture resistance ands thermal endurance and is conveniently formulated to desired end products under normal indoor/ outdoor conditions. Stickfast 301 readily inmpregnates fibrous resinforcing materials such as glass, cloth or mat to produce laminates having good mechanical strength, toughness and rigidity. Stickfast 301 is suitable for the manufacture of general purpose moulding such as machine guards, machine covers, furniture items, water tanks, bath tubs., construction panels, boats, marine equipments etc. the resin is also used for potting and encapsulation in decorative applications.           TYPICAL PROPERTIES OF STICKFAST 301           Appearance   A clear pale yellow liquid Speicifiy gravity @ 25 °C   1.11 0.02 Viscosity @ 25 °C(CPS) (Brookfield Viscometer)   600 100 Volatile Content (Wt %)   35 2 Acid Value (mgs KOH/gm)   25 5 Shelf Life   About 6 months at 20 °C When stored in original sealed containers.       CURING CHARACTERISTICS   Stickfast 301 is cured by free-radical initiating catalysts with suitable Accelerators to promote rapid curing. Typical gelation time of of Stickfact 301 at 25 °C is given below.       Stickfast 301   100 gms Accelerator (3% Co)   1.5 ml. Catalyst MEKP (50% Conc.)   1.5 ml. Geltime (Minutes)   20       CAUTION : Accelerator should never be mixed with catalyst as this would cause explosion. The accelerator should b e blended into the resin first. The catalyst should be added just before use.
