STICKFAST 352 SUPERIOR VINYL ESTER RESIN
kerala

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Stickfast 352 is a new high temperature corrosion resistant Vinyl Ester Resin based on Epoxy Novalac back bone and is having very high HDT and improved resistance to many severe chemical environment, especially chlorinated solvent resistance. Stickfast 352 superior Vinyl Ester Resin is found to be extremely effective in harsh chemical environments, where General purpose vinyl ester resin and Bisophenol-A fumerate polysters have failed. It is recommended for the manufacture of FRP components vizfilament winding, handle up, centrifugal casting, bag moulding or pultrusion.

Stickfast 352 superior vinyl ester resins designed to handle solvents and severely corrsion mixture at higher temperature. Since the unsaturation is terminal, carbon-to-carbon double bonds are extremely reactive and cure rapidly and consistently to give superior strength and creep resistance

The multifunctional epoxy Nocalac back bone in their molecular structure gives a highly cross linked structure on curing, which imparts superior oxidation, heat and solvent resistance than general purpose Vinyl Ester Resins.

CURING CHARACTERISTICS

Stickfast 352 superior vinyl ester resins are polymerized by free-radical initiating catalysts. The most commonly used catalyst systems are similar to the one used with General purpose vinyl ester resins.

Typical gelation time of Stickfast 352 25 °C is given below.

:

Stickfast 352   100 gms
Promoter (DMA 8%)   1.5 ml.
Accelerator (Co 3%)   1.5 ml
Catalyst MEKP (50% Conc.)   1.5 ml.
Geltime (Minutes)   25

CAUTION : Accelerator and promoter should never be mixed with catalyst as this would cause explosion. The accelerator and promoter should be blended into the resin first. The catalyst should be added just before use.

AREAS OF APPLICATION

Stickfast 352 superior vinyl ester resins out perform General purpose vinyl esters, as well as acid polyesters and Bisphonel-A fumerate polyesters. Stickfast 352 shows corrosion resistance properties similar to general purpose vinyl ester resin Stickfast 351 but shows better chemical resistance to Chlorinated solvents and it performs much better at higher temperatures. Stickfast 352 resins are used as an economic alternatives to exotic alloys. These resins are used in high temperature chlorination or caustic scrubbing and strong, in sulfonation processes, in industrial waster treatment facilities where solvents are present and in the solvent extraction process used in mining. Also they are used for hydrochloric acid transport, tank truck and lining..
