STICKFAST 354 BROMINATED VINYL ESTER RESIN
kerala

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Stickfast 354 is specially formulated from Stickfast Borminated Vinyl Ester Resin Stickfast 351 with the addition of antimony compound in order to attain optimum ignition resistance. It is also specially designed to give optimum thixotropy and is having a very high degree of fire retardancy coupled with the chemical resistance and mechanical properties of Vinyl Ester Resin

CURING CHARACTERISTICS

Stickfast 354 brominated Vinyl Ester Resin are polymerized by free-radical initiating catalysts. The most commonly used catalyst systems are similar to the one used with other grades of vinyl ester resins.

Typical gelation time of Stickfast 354 at 25 °C is given below.

:

Stickfast 353   100 gms
Promoter (DMA 8%)   1.5 ml.
Accelerator (Co 3%)   1.5 ml
Catalyst MEKP (50% Conc.)   1.5 ml.
Geltime (Minutes)   25

CAUTION: Accerator and promoter should never be mixed with catalyst as this would cause explosion. The accelerator and promoter should be blended into the resin first. The catalyst should be added just before use.

AREAS OF APPLICATION

Stickfast 354 Borminated Vinyl Ester Resin shows chemical resistance properties similar to Stickfast 353, but is have much higher degree of fire retardancy derived from synergetic effect of antimony compounds with the bromine from resin backbone. Stickfast 354 has similar applications of Stickfast 354, but where transparency of the moulding in not required.

Stickfast 354 Brominated Vinyl Ester Resin can be successfully used in FRP duct work, stacks and stackliner applications, equipments specified to handle mixtures of air and not gases or potentially flammable liquids, building panels and flooring compounds, where a very high degree of fire resistance is needed.

Stickfast 354 can also be used in military marine market for the production of high quality light weight Navy Craft.
